The concept of Village by Village is a driving force behind the work of the Rabuor Village Project. While the project has so far benefited the people of Rabuor Village and several surrounding communities, the long term vision of RVP goes far beyond reaching out to a handful of villages. It is our wish that the project now underway in Rabuor may be used as a model that can be replicated in a number of similar settings.

The success we have realized since the outset of activities proves that a community-driven model for improved health and development in rural African communities is the best approach to address the myriad problems such communities face. In a world overwhelmed with the magnitude of suffering brought on by the arrival of HIV/AIDS, the only way to rebuild devastated, resource-poor communities is through a step-wise approach borne out of a close and trusting relationship with a wide array of community members.

We believe that the model we are developing through the work of the Rabuor Village Project is a viable, sustainable, and less resource intensive solution to the complex health and development issues facing many communities in the developing world. With this in mind, we invite partnerships that will help us to achieve our mission of helping similar communities to start out on the road to recovery and, village by village, to wipe out extreme poverty and life-threatening diseases.

In the spirit of Village by Village, the work of RVP is already beginning to benefit a growing number of communities. Examples of benefits being received include: employment opportunities, access to health services, access to education, agricultural training, and much more. The following villages in western Kenya's Nyanza Province, in addition to Rabuor, are currently linked to the project: Bur Lowo, Chulaimbo, Isivaru, Kawango, Maliera, Mbaka Oromo, Mbalawandu, North Kapuonja, Nyabera, Nyamedha, Nyawita, Nyore, and On'gadi.
